Some Reading

Besides working on my my fitness and overall health, I want to get back into reading.  Here I write from this prompt or that.  I read and post blog stuff.  I haven't stayed up late with a good book in a long time.

For a time  I  tried to read some contemporary fiction ( I think that what you all it)  The deep stuff.  However, my heart belongs to fantasy and Sci Fi.  Both with a little romance.
I started going to my Base library and now I am staying up late to read.

Hey, when you read lots you tend to write more.  This will be a great boost to my writing mojo.

Neglect

It is funny. My days are my own. Once upon a time I would spend hours reading blogs or posting.
This last two weeks I have been trying to make the gym and track a daily part of my life. At home I have been trying to eat better too.
I have joined the Sisterhood of the shrinking Jeans.
You know it is making a difference
The community reminds me of the community I have here with other mothers wives and women(and some fathers too)

I say this to let the few of you who come by that I will be writing more soon. Hoverer, right now I am working on getting my health under control.

writing assignment: Apprentice and MY MY

Writing assignments from Mama's losin it Writer's Workshop. I have written on (5 of 5) of the prompts:

1.) Book review!

Magician: Apprentice (Riftwar Saga) by Raymond Feist. Is the first grown up type book I read as I child. My father worked nights in radiology at a hospital. I saw this book picked it up and could not put it down. It was the first of a four part saga with three more saga spin offs, (I have/ read all but one saga) This reading establishes my love of Fantasy/Sci Fi Fiction.

The story is about a young orphan Pug, (Yes that is the boys name) who want to be a squire. He is bit to scrawny and is not chosen during a formal ceremony. A local magician takes pity on him an chooses him. From there he learns magic and later becomes very powerful. However, he stays loving and himself throughout this book and the books that follow.

2.) When is it okay not to listen to the words? Explain about a song you really love that has lame lyrics or lyrics you simply don't understand.

as seen on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_lJ8HAc2FI
Seven Mary Three My My lyrics

my my stomach hurts again tonight she says:and crashes on her floor cuts what she can't untie ties it to a door if mercy was a cattle call she didn't hear she didn't want to play the role of the fool again won't be fooled again indifference as my witness I think she'd take me back she tears down my front door just to see my photograph my my head is getting so confused she says what's she trying to do to me?put my sticker on her car bought a CD if mercy was a cattle call she didn't hear she didn't want to play the role of the fool again won't be fooled again indifference as my witness I think she'd take me back she tears down my front door just to hear my phonograph it spins....I ain't too proud to beg sweet darlin don't you leave me baby don't you go I ain't too proud to beg sweet darlin don't you leave me my my skin can't take much more of this, she says you're scaling over me.every time I wash it off, I find you underneath and if mercy was a cattle call she didn't hear...she didn't want to play the role of the fool again won't be fooled again...

I love this song

3.) Why won't you forget? List six true sentences that begin with the words 'I'll never forget...' Then use all six of your sentences in a paragraph, poem, or longer descriptive piece.

I'll never forget...the eyes
My husbands eyes was all I focused on during our wedding.
My children’s eyes kept me captivated when the were newborns.
I'll never forget...the sun
I love sun light. Every way. Bright and hot in the summer. Dime and scarce in the winter. Hiding behind clouds or reflected off the moon.
I'll never forget...that being able to read is a wonderful gift.
I'll never forget...to be grateful everyday for my life the ups and the downs
I'll never forget...this blogging experience!!! I have a outlet for my whining and bragging. My family and friends would never talk to me again if they had to listen to all of this everyday.
I'll never forget...My Sunny!
She is my sunshine my only sunshine she makes me happy when sky are grey. She’d never know dear how much I love her. Please don’t take my Sunny way. (:P)

writing assignment: one minute prompts

C. Beth at One minute writer sets a writing prompt every day and you have one minute to write anything. She even has a counter on her site. What a great idea.

HOW IT WORKS ~ per c. Beth
Who's got the time to journal daily? You do.

1. Read the daily writing prompt.
2. Push "Play" on the timer on the right side of the screen.
3. Spend 60 seconds or less writing a response to the daily prompt.

You may respond in the "Comments" section of each post, if your response is family-friendly. Or you can use your word processor, or an old-fashioned pen and paper. It's up to you. Also feel free to use the "Comments" section for informal discussion about the responses that are posted.

If the daily prompt inspires you to write something on your own blog or website, please link back to this site.

Happy Easter

A time to reflect and remember the ultimate sacrifice.

Saturday I took the girl to a Base organized egg hunt. Dad didn't want to go so it was a boys day home.

She found 5 plastic eggs filled with candy that melted. (little plastic egg holding smaller chocolate candies in sun on grassy field) I put it in the freezer for a few.

I got her some cake. I sat her down at the table not more than maybe four steps away from the food tent. Stay here while mommy get some cake.
Be careful mommy
?OK
No really be careful the Easter bunny might get you and eat you all up
OK I'll be careful.

She is not really afraid of the Easter Bunny. She is afraid of the tall fury clad person looming over her.

After the cake was face painting and the bouncer.

Fun had by all

mommy midnight rant

Late nights and early days.

Sunday night.  The family has just gone to bed.  So should you!
Then you notice it's Mammy Midnight.  Those hours or minutes between you should be in bed and you should be asleep.  That is any time between 9:30 PM and 3 AM.

It starts with going to the bath room to brush your teeth, and noticing that it would only take a minute to run a cloth (rag) over the sink.  Then you replace the towels .  On your way to the laundry, by then some family member has notice the lights still on an question your sanity.
You lie and tell them you just on your way to bed.  You separate the laundry with one load ready to start, and head to the kitchen with a clean dish cloth.  Wiping th counters and giving the floor a quick sweep.  On your way back to your room, you pick up the living room.
See where this is going.

A few minutes or hours later, about 2 to 3 AM.  Your home is knida where you want it.  You get into bed happy and veryyyyyy tired.
The next day your family runs through their morning routines.  They never nice that they have clean clothes or clean floors, but you still take pride in your work.  By the time they leave your house is trashed again.
Whey do we bother.  Because, it is how we want things even if they don't stay that way.

Thank you for reading my mommy midnight rant.

Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium

Last week, Friday the 3rd, the dad and I got tickets to the aquarium. I didn't tell the girl anything. Saturday, we got girl and boy up and dressed. Yes, I fed them too.
It was a hour and a half drive down the island. When we got there the was this net climbing park.
The girl still had no idea what we were doing. Until...
Hey, you like dolphins? Right?
Yessssssssssss
Do you wan to go see some for real?
Yes Yes YESSSSSSSSSSSSSssssssssssssssssss
We walked over to the Dolphin tank for the live show.
The girl was in heaven.
The rest of the aquarium was just gravy after that.
This shark/whale was huge.

Later we walked over to a white sand beach. It was so pretty.

Eggos and classes

Today I took my first Japanese language class offered free here on base.  It was two hours.  We when over sounds and some phrases.  I really liked it.

Later when I got home the girl had not eaten her dinner.
"Mommy, I'm hungry."
"You should have eaten your dinner.  No snacks!"
Later at bed time. Ten minutes later.  There was a fish feeding tantrum.
We asked her the help feed the fish.  She wouldn't move so the Dad fed the fish.
She kicked and cried.  Kicking me while I was holding a sleeping boy.
SO, I tapped her on her butt.  Time for bed.
"Mommy, I'm hungry."
I got her ready for bed.  Mind you I had already made a mini Eggo for her.  I wanted to get her dressed for bed first.
"Here is your waffles.  Now next time I tell you to do something and your change your mind you can't get mad.  OK?"
"Yes mommy"

Then she at the mini waffles by braking them in to four rounds.  Then she ate around each one.  Lastly she ate them.  All the while humming some yum yum song.
Children are cute.  Now as I post on the edge of her bed she is asleep.

I just find it so funny that just a few moment earlier She was screaming a Kicking. Now she is peacefully sleeping.

writing assignment, chocolate & turning into my mother

Writing assignments from Mama's losin it Writer's Workshop. I have written on (5 of 5) of the prompts:

1.) Why did you do it?

Because, the voice promised me chocolate Heresy bars with almonds.

2.) What is a common misconception about you?

The common misconception about me is that I am antisocial. When I am out and about I tend to have my mouth shut and focused on what I am doing. Friends have told me I look pissed at something. No, that is just my not doing anything face. I do speak to people who look like they want to say hello. Other wise I tend to stay to myself. ( I am from a city that is not into getting into other peoples business)

3.) Describe a moment when you felt afraid.

When I think one of my children might get hurt.

4.) In what ways are you turning into your mother?

I have to make a list of everything.
I wake first in the house and am the last to go to bed 6 AM to 1 AM
I sneak bites from the edges of the food when I cook (I made it I can taste it)
I have to have things in the house put away MY WAY( I go behind family and set things)
I have to watch Law and Order (even thought I have seen every episode)

5.) Are you always right?

NO, only sometimes

April fools day is my wedding anniversary.

Yes it is.  No joke.  9 years ago I married my Marine.
With two children and not family near by we had a day
date.  I made pancakes.  Then we went bowling.  After playing Wii bowling the real thing is harder.  Even my pins were giving me the finger.  I played so bad.  I had so much fun.  It has been a long time sense we have been out with out the children and did something just for us.
Then we went to the Macaroni grill for lunch.  by then I was time to get the boy from Child care.  30 minuted before collecting the girl from the school bus stop.

It is so nice to feel comfortable with someone that you can be silly and loving at the same time.  Good times
